"Veronica" comes from the Latin word 'vera', meaning "truth", and Greek 'eikon', meaning "image" - though she was not mentioned specifically in the Bible, all Catholics who meditate on the Stations of the Cross are familiar with this little-known saint who made a big, bold effort to comfort our Lord!
