When God made us men, with a seemingly insatiable hunger, He didn’t say “Behold, it is very sinful, dirty, and evil. Let Me tone this one down a bit.” No, He proclaimed “Behold, it is very good!” Our God is a God of wonders. He made an achingly beautiful world and invites us into this “terrible beauty” that He has created to draw us back to Him.

With confidence in us, He calls us to self-mastery—to channel this good fire, not by repressing it but by releasing it in powerful, life-giving ways. Together in these days, we’ll learn how to reconcile ourselves to our natural greatness. It starts with naming the goodness of His creation—the good in us.

Challenge:
Sex, sexual desire, the body: these are all very good things. They are God's ideas. It can be tempting for us who have seen the destruction that disordered sexual desire can cause to demonize sex, and everything to do with it.

Pornography and disordered sexual desires hijacks God’s design for life and love. It hijacks God’s plan for you. Sexual desire properly given is good! But pornography emasculates.

Answer the following questions:

-Do you believe that sexual desire is, in fact, good?
-If we are created for life-giving communion with others, and ultimately with God, what happens (to you and others) when you misuse these gifts ("this is your body, taken for me")?
-How have you seen pornography's misuse of sexual desire play out in your own life?
